Learning Community
A peer learning space for individuals committed to developing their cultural agility and deepening their personal and professional reconciliation journeys.
Our goal is to foster a "brave space" guided by the foundational principles of humility, reciprocity, accountability, and relationship.
*Niso’kawaiksi
“All my relations”
Niso’kawaiksi is the phonetic pronunciation of the Blackfoot word for “all my relations”, which is the name for this learning program that was gifted by Kainai Elder Casey Eaglespeaker, who emphasized the importance of recognizing our interconnectedness and developing trust, humility, and respect for one another in order to effectively make positive changes toward reconciliation.
Cultural agility means being able to work and build relationships with other cultural groups without leaving one’s own culture behind.
Who is this community for?
The primary audience for this community is alumni of Forum’s Niso'kawaiksi Cultural Agility Programs.
We also welcome participants who have demonstrated a strong commitment to developing their cultural agility in reconciliation and have a sincere desire to share with and learn from others.

Being part of the community means coming to at least one seasonal gathering each year. When you choose to accept an invitation to a specific seasonal gathering, we ask for two commitments:
Time & Presence: Carve out the time and space to be fully present for the entire 90-minute virtual session (cameras on, ready to share and learn with the community).
Intention Setting: Take 5 to 10 minutes before the session to set specific intentions. You will be asked to fill out a brief form indicating your topic preferences and noting what you hope to learn and what you have to share.
What is expected of me if I join?
What is a peer learning community?
A peer learning community is built on the fundamental assumption that we all have something to offer and something to learn.
Rather than a traditional teacher-student dynamic, participants learn from one another's lived experiences, questions, and insights.
We will invite Niso’kawaiksi Indigenous Learning Guides to participate in our gatherings, and they will receive an honorarium for their time and wisdom.
Please note that Learning Guides are encouraged to participate as members of the community rather than as formal teachers or facilitators. Participants are asked to respect this approach and aim to avoid only asking for advice without offering their own knowledge and experiences. This is one way that we honour the peer-learning model, recognizing that our guides also bring a spirit of reciprocity, that is, having both something to offer and something to learn.
Will there be Indigenous facilitators or teachers?
