Justin Jimmy, a proud member of the Onion Lake Cree Nation, is an accomplished and multitalented professional whose career is rooted in commitments to advancing Indigenous culture, reconciliation, and economic empowerment. As the founder of Urban Cree Consulting, Justin provides expert accounting, governance, and advisory services to Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations. Guided by ethical principles of integrity, objectivity, and professionalism, Urban Cree Consulting is a trusted partner in fostering financial clarity and growth to support sustainable, long-term success.
Justin serves in pivotal roles such as Director at the Métis Settlements Development Corporation, where he leads the economic advancement of Alberta’s Métis Settlements. He serves on the Premier’s Council for Multiculturalism and the Strategic Aviation Advisory Council with the Government of Alberta, contributing to the development of inclusive policies and innovative programs. He also currently serves as a Trustee for the Wicekaskosiw Sahkahikan Askiwi-Pimiy Heritage Trust Fund, ensuring financial sustainability for future generations of Onion Lake Cree Nation members. Justin’s extensive leadership experience also includes serving as Chief Financial Officer for the Upper Nicola Band and Manager of Indigenous Trust Services at Deloitte, focused on wealth management initiatives and advanced reconciliation through collaborative financial strategies.
In addition, Justin was appointed President & CEO of the Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) in 2024, where he contributed expertise in Indigenous economic reconciliation, governance, and financial management. In 2024, he was also elected to the Servus Credit Union Board of Directors.
Justin’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, the CPA Professional Education Program, and the Directors Education Program (ICD.D) through the Institute of Corporate Directors. Beyond his financial expertise, Justin is also a licensed pilot and completed commercial flight training with the First Nations Technical Institute in Tyendinaga, Mohawk Territory. Inspired by his mother’s encouragement to pursue education within mainstream institutions, Justin has built a career dedicated to creating equitable economic outcomes while promoting cultural understanding.
In addition to his scholarly accomplishments and multifaceted career achievements, Justin and his wife, Bobbi, founded Just Ezzy Bee in 2021—a Certified Indigenous Business recognized by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. Their entrepreneurial venture offers ethical children’s clothing and practical products designed to support caregivers and families, showcasing Justin’s innovative spirit and commitment to community well-being.
For over a decade, Justin has collaborated with Anne Harding, Owner of Forum Community Relations, cultivating a professional partnership grounded in mutual respect and a shared dedication to advancing Indigenous awareness and reconciliation. Grateful for this connection, Justin and Anne’s paths continuously cross in collaboration to drive meaningful change through training, education, and initiatives across corporate, social, and private sectors.
Outside of work, Justin cherishes time with his family, including annual road trips throughout Canada and the United States, and attending powwows. A licensed pilot, he frequently explores new destinations, embracing his love for aviation and adventure.
Through his multifaceted career and personal dedication, Justin is guided by his mothers wisdom and encouragement, Indigenous perspectives, and collaborative partnerships. His advocacy for structural change challenges resistance that is rooted in tradition, inclusive dialogue, respect, and shared prosperity for all communities.
